Determinants of Public Support for Privacy Invasions

  • Lukas Antoine

摘要

This chapter tackles the question: To what extent do individuals consider costs and benefits when forming their privacy attitudes? The focus is expanded to include other monetary and non-monetary costs and benefits that individuals might consider in their privacy calculus. Additionally, the context question is revisited, as the dataset from the Conflict of Values in Germany survey allows me to determine a proxy for subjective and objective security for each respondent and explore the effects of these on the acceptance of privacy invasions.
