Since sodium butyrate could be toxic to adult DRGs, they were exposed for two days to varying SB levels (0 µM, 1,000 µM, 2,000 µM, 4,000 µM, 8,000 µM, 16,000 µM, 32,000 µM). The evaluation took place, measuring the outgrowth of the neurites in µm and plotting it using GraphPad. In Figure 5.1 shown a significant reduction of the neurites in the sodium butyrate concentrations from 2,000 µM to 32,000 µM.
