Discussion: What the Findings Reveal from a Comparative Perspective

The qualitative interviews in the first study provide important insights into institutional violence in Germany and the Netherlands. Sweden was included in the online survey, which helped to provide a broader and more comprehensive picture about the prevalence and types of institutional violence from a comparative perspective. The verbal violence questionnaire developed by the VIOLIN team was used to capture incidents of verbal violence in institutions.
