“Twin Peaks on Pinot Noir”—European TV Series in the Footsteps of a Series Classic
摘要
Weinberg and Jordskott are two European series that have been discussed by critics in the feuilletons in connection with Twin Peaks. Based on the assumption that there is a direct reference between the hypotext Twin Peaks and the hypertexts Weinberg and Jordskott, this article examines to what extent Twin Peaks establishes a specific series genre. In doing so, seven content-related and formal aspects of the respective narratives are comparatively focused on: cinematic staging, plot time and location, narrative structure, rationally inexplicable elements, the grotesque, intra- and intermediality, and the lack of restoration of order.
