Psychoneuroendocrinology (PNE) in Psychosocial and Psychotherapeutic Practice: “PNES Coaching”

  • Julia Wiederhofer

摘要

In the last chapter, it is shown, on the one hand, how enormously relevant the integration of psychoneuroendocrinological findings into psychosocial and psychotherapeutic practice is, and on the other hand, a biopsychosocial coaching approach (PNES coaching) developed by me is presented, which implements the psychoneuroendocrinological findings presented in this book and the related and neighboring scientific disciplines (e.g., (behavioral) genetics, psychoneuroimmunology, chronobiology) into psychosocial and psychotherapeutic practice. This requires openness to interdisciplinarity, biopsychosocial concepts, and multimodal therapy forms. This biopsychosocial coaching approach can be applied to both mentally healthy people and people with mental disorders, in crisis situations, in everyday psychosocial life, to maintain mental health, to improve mood and general well-being, to control emotions, to strengthen resilience, and to support individual goal achievement, among other things. PNES coaching can be used as both prevention and intervention to facilitate the life and everyday coping of clients. By linking knowledge about our endocrine system, our psyche, our brain, genetics, social resources, and positive environmental influences with an eclectic-integrative biopsychosocial coaching approach, the quality in psychosocial and psychotherapeutic practice can be improved.
