Digital Border Shift

  • Jürgen Müller

摘要

The boundaries of IT will significantly expand and shift towards “even more participation” and “even more benefits for all” in the next 20 years. Exemplary for its future are the topics selected here: Metaverse, Web 3.0 in the form of a decentralized internet of blockchains, and the new IT-driven mobility. “Quantum Computing,” computing with quanta, will open up revolutionary and much more far-reaching problem-solving possibilities for science and businesses than are available to us today. These innovations will have a significant impact on our technical and economic progress. They are already clearly recognizable today, although they are only at the beginning of their development. Their success is not guaranteed, and their further progress is still fraught with technical and economic uncertainties. The necessary state regulation of the unpredictable will require more intensive cooperation with the private sector and science, provided the state does not want to lag behind technical development as it has in the past.
