Transfer of the GATE Lens to Entrepreneurship

Given the youth bias in the entrepreneurship literature, it seems particularly promising to differentiate the age—entrepreneurship relationship via the GATE lens. The focus on young entrepreneurs risks ignoring the increased rate of older adults who are actively planning to start or have started a business within the past 3.5 years. Potential reasons behind this youth bias might include the often heroic view of entrepreneurs (Dencker, Bacq, Gruber, & Haas, 2021) and the success of the entrepreneurial education system in encouraging younger individuals to become entrepreneurs.
