Conclusion

In this final chapter of the thesis, the findings will be summarised in the context of the research questions are summarised. For this purpose, the rigorous research approach as well as the research questions and subordinated research objectives will be reviewed. Furthermore, contributions to knowledge will be outlined and discussed. More importantly within a DBA study, the managerial implications will be highlighted in detail. This adds in particular to the overall research objective which was to make recommendations for German professional football clubs with regard to the use of crowdlending and crowdinvesting as an alternative fan-based finance instrument. Finally, this chapter will point out limitations and future opportunities for research in the rapidly emerging research area of crowdfunding.
