Oscillators

If active high-frequency circuits oscillate, then at least one mono-frequency output signal is produced. This can often already be observed when designing an RF amplifier. Unfortunately, such unwanted oscillators do not oscillate at a desired frequency and the other properties of the oscillation are also inadequate. This rather short, easily accessible and concise chapter on oscillators for the GHz range is the first to present the basics derived purely from scattering parameters. The dual-mode technique for improving the phase noise is also innovative here. The basics of noise influences conclude this chapter.
