Fundamentals of Field Simulation

In recent decades, a large number of software solutions have been developed that enable microwave engineers to calculate electromagnetic field problems with good and very good quality and thus make good predictions. This chapter presents two aspects of the practical calculation of electromagnetic fields using commercially available software. At first the basics for calculating fields over long distances and then the fundamentals for the precise numerical analysis of electromagnetic fields in 3D volumes.
