Waveguides
摘要
Until 1970, so-called waveguides were the most commonly used conductor systems in high-frequency and microwave technology. All predominantly military applications and radio relay systems used waveguides. Waveguides were the most widely used conductor system in the GHz range. However, with the advent of coaxial cables and other technologies, waveguide systems began to diversify, leading to new applications and an expanded range of possibilities. In this chapter, the important propagation mode in the most commonly used waveguide is graphically derived in detail, all waveguide sizes are introduced, various waveguide shapes are presented and the associated conductor modes as well as waveguide components are visualized in detail using electromagnetic simulations.
