Characteristics of Product Recalls
摘要
This brief chapter characterizes product recalls based on seven factors: legal weight, safety violations and compliance issues, initiation responsibilities, recall management process, motivations behind recall decisions, voluntary and mandated recalls, and recalls due to negligence and deliberate misconduct. It differentiates various types of product removals and related terms, such as stock recovery, product withdrawal, latent product-harm crisis, product recalls, as well as customer- and distribution-level recalls. By providing clear definitions and distinctions, this chapter offers a comprehensive understanding of the different aspects and classifications of product recalls, helping to clarify the nuances and implications of each type.
