Leveraging AI-Enabled People Analytics for Designing Organizations

The recent strides in artificial intelligence (AI) have ushered in a transformative phase for organizations worldwide, spanning various industries and global landscapes. Within this discourse, this paper introduces the burgeoning potential of AI-driven people analytics in reshaping organizational design. Notably, AI-infused people analytics precipitates swift alterations in the directional, structural, evaluative, and design facets of organizational task allocation and distribution. These transformations promise heightened operational efficiency, amplified revenues, and an infusion of creative prowess. However, concurrently, this paradigm shift poses challenges to the principles of organizational justice, implicates managerial accountability, and raises concerns regarding transparency within organizational dynamics. This book chapter undertakes a comprehensive evaluation of these juxtaposed dynamics, delineating the trade-offs entailed, and proposes pivotal design principles crucial for the effective harnessing of AI-Enabled People Analytics in the realm of organizational design. Moreover, the exposition delves into the application of Organizational Network Analysis, a subset of people analytics, elucidating its instrumental role in informing and shaping organizational design.
