This article places the observation that humans interact relationally with technology at its core. The ethical debates surrounding AI are analyzed for their blind spots, and a relational ethical approach to the discussion is proposed. This approach primarily focuses on the consequences that the relationships between humans and machines have for human–human relationships. In a theological–ethical conclusion, it becomes evident that these effects on humans and their humanity will be of particular concern in future work and personal life. The relations ethics approach represents a model for the inclusion of both the organic and the technical–digital in the expanding boundaries of a new ethics and to include the effects of interactions.
