摘要

This chapter presents an ethnographic study of how activists in a Palestinian village have used social media and Information and Communication Technology (ICT)s to organise protests against the Israeli occupation over an eight-year period. It focuses on one key activist, Hasan, and his evolving use of platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp to publicise demonstrations, interact with supporters and spread messages. The study shows how Hasan’s social media skills have developed through practice and how he strategically conducts both online and offline protests.
