Research Setting

The following subsections provide a brief introduction to the specific research sites where our research was conducted, namely Tunisia, Palestine, Syria and Iran. These four countries, although part of the same region, are characterised by distinct individual socio-political dynamics. As a result, they present a wide range of contexts that contribute to a multifaceted examination and enhancement of our understanding of various aspects within the MENA region, particularly in relation to divergent patterns of social media use.
