International Law and Human Rights: European Politics Including Diversity and Inclusion

This article provides a systemic overview of the risks, threats, opportunities and impact of artificial intelligence and new technologies in the construction sector considering buildings not only as an engineering and business process, but also as key components of public spaces, and therefore a key driver of social peace or inequalities and discriminations, of ethical concerns and trade-offs, of international law and human rights violations or enhancement. Thus, it provides an overview of the AI-applications and challenges in the construction sector with regards to the concepts of value creation and social value before questioning the concept of smart cities with regards to the concepts of democracy, human rights, nation states and the current international law and human rights frameworks.
