Maintainability and Updateability of ADAS Software
摘要
A large proportion of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) functionality is implemented in software. As a result, maintainability and updateability of this software also play a central role in the development process. Due to the high degree of automation with longitudinal and lateral guidance interventions, development, maintenance and updates must always be carried out under the aspect of functional safety. At the same time, sharing the hardware/software platform between many applications of different types and criticality leads to complex mutual dependencies and influences. As a result, side effects of updates may impact the timing behavior and thus the functional safety. This influence is not limited to timing, but can also affect the function itself. This chapter therefore first looks at the different types of software updates and the associated challenges with regard to controlling the side effects of updates. For the family of AUTOSAR standards, the state of the art in the areas of update management and runtime monitoring is presented. In order to facilitate the integration and verification of software updates, mechanisms for the decoupling of data and timing behavior are then discussed, and an overview of possible safeguarding mechanisms through runtime monitoring is given.
