Test Concepts for the Safeguarding of Automated Driving
摘要
Automated driving without the need for the driver to monitor places new and considerably higher demands on function and safety validation and consequently on the test and safeguarding concepts to be used for this purpose. Essential requirements and selected concept approaches are presented here. Due to the extensive research worldwide and the numerous initiatives, some of which are confidential, this chapter cannot provide a complete overview of this central topic. Therefore, the authors explain the main features of the test concepts with a special focus on research work to which they themselves have contributed. Furthermore, the strengths and weaknesses of the individual building blocks for safeguarding automated driving functions are discussed. The spectrum ranges from driving tests to simulation and scenario-based testing. Despite the approaches presented, the issue cannot yet be considered as being solved, as is impressively demonstrated by the large number of projects underway worldwide.
