Evocative Autoethnography: Reception and Potential Use

In this chapter, we discuss evocative autoethnography as a method in the canon of performative social science and explain its potential for cultural psychology. We provide an insight into current reception contexts and show where the approach of autoethnography constructively challenges (cultural) psychology and how it can connect to existing debates in this field. To demonstrate the diverse uses of autoethnography, we also present possible combinations with other research approaches. Finally, we illustrate with examples how an autoethnographic research project can proceed.
