Continuous Learning—The Importance for Companies and the Approaches of Continuous Learning in an Ever Faster Changing Working World

Digitization is transforming the entire world of work. The introduction of new technologies and the ongoing digitization of business processes are leading to fundamental changes that increasingly have an impact on the required skills and qualifications of employees. In order to keep pace with the dynamic change in work, but also to allow companies flexibility and possibilities for change in digital transformation, there must be a continuous development of the qualifications of employees—thus continuous learning. The aim of this article is therefore to provide an overview of continuous learning in the context of the digitization of the world of work. To this end, it first explains what continuous learning is. It also addresses both the challenges and benefits for companies and employees, and presents possible solutions for practice.
