Digital Connectivity in the Context of New Work
摘要
Smartphones, laptops, and tablets enable remote work and constant digital connectivity. The new world of work is strongly characterized by the opportunities and risks of digital hyper-connectivity. The ability to work independently of time and location is generally appreciated by employees because it improves the compatibility of professional and private life for many office workers. On the other hand, the blending of leisure and work also carries risks and places higher demands on self-regulation. The two personality types, Integrators and Separators, react differently to constant digital connectivity. In the context of New Work, it is helpful from both the employer’s perspective and from the perspective of workplace health promotion to explicitly clarify the conditions for professional digital connectivity.
