Platform Work: Revolution of the Labor Market?
摘要
The aim of this article is to provide an overview of “new” forms of work (crowdworking and platform work) and to present the most important legal considerations in this context. It will be demonstrated that crowdworking offers great flexibility for companies and crowdworkers, is experiencing significant growth, and has the potential to help shape the “working world of tomorrow”. However, as with almost all new forms of work, there are still legal uncertainties. In order to address these grey areas, the European Parliament, after lengthy discussions, agreed on the directive on improving working conditions in platform work on April 24, 2024. This chapter shows how the resulting risks for companies can be reduced and whether the new directive can indeed resolve the current uncertainties.
