Free Space for Employees—Planning Security for Employers

The world of work is changing rapidly. What was once a rare exception, home office has become part of a new normal for many. Where the boundaries between home and office blur, the desire for delineation between work and private life grows. When a company introduces new working time models, these should contribute to balance both and give employees the assurance of actually being able to switch off and relax. In August 2021, T-Systems International GmbH (“T-Systems”) introduced the working time model FreiRaum for this very purpose. It offers the possibility to convert money into time. Employees can receive up to twelve additional free days per year through FreiRaum. These are treated like vacation: time—for the family, for the care of relatives, for hobbies or simply for oneself.
