Family in the Post-Migrant Society

In politics and media, families as residents of large housing estates are often portrayed in a deficit-oriented way and in connection with a wide range of problems. Images of people in “incomplete” or “broken” families, of parents who show (too) little interest in their (too many) children and do not sufficiently fulfill their care and education duties dominate these presentations. Again and again, there is talk of children and adolescents with school problems and educational deficits, often in the context of educational distance or a weak socioeconomic status of their parents.
