Theoretical Framework, a Multi-level Approach

This chapter introduces the theoretical foundation of this project by presenting the multi-level approach to studying female careers. The chapter presents Bourdieu’s theory, first by defining the major concepts of field, capital and habitus, masculine domination, and the interplay between them. Then the chapter presents how the concepts of Bourdieu are used from a career research perspective, and discusses Bourdieu’s Theory of Practice use in female career research topic.
