Present Your Slides with Power and to the Point
摘要
Depending on the time frame of your Science Pitch, use slides very sparingly and do so in a targeted and particularly effective manner. This means that outlines, thank-you slides and lengthy literature references are generally left out. They do not provide additional value to your audience. Shift your references to a handout instead. Many slides appear as data trash with overloaded text in extensive bullet-point lists and labels of complex figures. It disconnects the speaker from the audience. Instead, you can present your topic briefly and clearly by displaying only one essential piece of information per slide. Choose wisely what you highlight thematically. The guiding principle is “Less is more!” You can reveal complex information step by step. A short interaction with your audience is often an excellent intermediate step before unveiling your results. Also, remember that graphics often convey more information than mere words!
