Execution Phase Part 2: Manufacturing and Inspection

This chapter describes the second part of the execution phase, during which the actual manufacturing of a machine unit takes place. Important documents are also reviewed, revised, and approved during this phase. The focus is on schedule monitoring, quality assurance, manufacturing controls, functional tests, and test runs, up to the final factory inspection and transport to the construction site. Since the testing procedures and manufacturing controls were already determined in the pre-inspection meeting, only minor adjustments are made. Also significant in this phase is the creation and review of operating and maintenance instructions, as well as the planning of spare parts. The important details are discussed in detail, particularly focusing on cast repair, balancing, installation tests, as well as the mechanical and thermodynamic test run.
