From Offer to Order

The process taking place during the bidding phase includes bid requests, technical and commercial detailed clarifications, and the selection process of the machine supplier up to the completion of the order documents. This chapter addresses the contents of the request documents and the offers from machine manufacturers. It also describes details of the handling process between the buyer and the machine supplier, including communication channels, scheduling, project milestones, documents to be supplied, the handling of changes in the project scope, warranties, defect handling and contractual penalties, quality assurance and quality monitoring, functional tests, transport and customs clearance. These clarifications then lead to a comprehensive comparison of bids, resulting in the final selection of one of the suppliers.
