An Intervision Between the Heavens and the Earth: Forms and Functions of the First Manned Moon Landing in Czechoslovakia Media

The Czech press reporting of the first manned moon landing will be examined in this text. In particular, the different motives and narratives of the reports will be systematically presented based on examples. Thereafter it should become clear that during the coverage of the Apollo 11 mission, Czechoslovak television presented itself as a mediator of (trans-)global network utopia across the Iron Curtain.
