Market Overview and Cloud Canvas

This chapter presents the key market participants in the field of Public Cloud. For this purpose, depending on the level of abstraction, the main participants from the areas of Infrastructure-as-a-Service, Platform-as-a-Service, and Software-as-a-Service are presented. Since it is impossible to represent all providers due to the multitude of them, the chapter focuses on the key participants. Subsequently, the Cloud Canvas is used to compare the services offered by the three main IaaS providers. For this, the Cloud Service Domains are used to classify and compare the services of the providers. Finally, the chapter discusses the available industry specialties, which exist for a few industries.
