Dark Sides of Consumption: How Consumers Trick and Deceive

  • Günther Rosenberger

摘要

Members of civil society often prove to be rude and egocentric in everyday life. For example, they lie to compensate for a disadvantage, or they cheat to gain an advantage. This is also the case in consumption: shoplifting, fare evasion, insurance fraud are common and rarely ostracized violations against decency, social norms, and criminal law. The causes of such misconduct lie in a web of internal and external, situational and structural conditions. Who can do what against ‘criminal consumption’? New tasks for consumer science are proposed.
