As only 30% of the large companies (250 employees or more) focused on in this study had implemented a digital twin by 2021, Gartner’s prediction was only partly accurate. However, operational effectiveness, as shown in Equation 5.4, can be increased by more than 10% (11.13%) through the theoretical application of a DTDDMM.
