Under Chinese Patronage

This chapter examines the primary nationalization mechanisms and their effects on the international dimension of Albanian higher education under China’s patronage. The chapter argues that under this new patronage, the regime reconfigured its foreign policy and initiated a new process of re-nationalization of Albanian higher education. This new foreign policy provided a relatively high degree of self-determination, increased Albania’s significance in international society, and impacted the degree and quality of international exchanges.
