The World Is (not) Enough: Future Through Digitization at GEA

This case study is concerned with the need for transformation into an era of sustainable economic growth at net-zero emissions. GEA is a mechanical engineering company, which develops a conceptual framework for a circular business model in mechanical engineering and shows the application with a focus on the interplay of physical products, virtual data architectures, and smart services. Students can learn how GEA engages into engineering and the use of computer simulations based on a Digital Twin to succeed in delivering improved designs, whereby energy requirements can be significantly reduced.
