Design and development staff must develop functional solutions and are faced with an enormously large catalog of requirements. The component to be designed must fulfill the intended function and have the necessary, load-specific properties. Even this task description contains considerable risks. Often, the specific loads are not exactly known and assumptions must be made. Intelligent FEM tools are available, but the boundary conditions for these simulation calculations are very often inaccurate or unknown.
