According to this connection between the Inverted Classroom Model, self-regulated learning and learning motivation, we continue as follows: Sect. 3.1 discusses self-regulation. This includes an introduction to Schmitz and Schmitz’ (2007) model of self-regulation. Subsequently (3.2) we delve into a basic component of self-regulated learning, the motivation to learn using Ryan and Deci’s (2017) Self-Determination Theory.
