Space and Density

Social life only unfolds in a structure of proximity and density of lifeworlds. Sedentary, land-bound societies are delimited societies, time and space are essential influences on life. In the context of space, therefore, density is a similarly contested concept—too often misunderstood and overloaded with meanings.
