Influencer marketing is of growing interest for researchers and practitioners alike. Many brands see this as a viable tactic to increase brand awareness and brand liking, by cooperating with social media influencers particular in visual social networks like Instagram or tiktok. In this paper we demonstrate that even if a brand is very prominentely placed and the post of the respective influencer almost looks like a paid advertisement this does not negatively impact liking of the influencer or the brand. Furthermore, we show that static images even enhance this positive memory and attitudinal effects for the brand which is sequentially mediated via the attitudes towards the influencer and the attitudes towards the post.
