摘要

The Middle East conflict is considered the oldest unresolved regional conflict of international significance. Its origins date back to the late nineteenth century. But strictly speaking, there is no “Middle East conflict”. What is known under this term are relationships between local, regional, and global actors, the core of which is the competition for Palestine, the land between the River Jordan and the Mediterranean. The perception of the Palestine conflict as the core of the Middle East conflict is associated with the idea that the question of war and peace in the Middle East is inextricably linked to the resolution of this century-long conflict.
