Conclusion
摘要
This Chapter summarizes the findings of my research and highlights the most important conclusions: a) As researchers of capitalism, we should be aware of its dependent and uneven and combined nature and understand relations of productions as relations of desires and expectations.b) As researchers of the WANA region we should employ a longue durée perspective to understand the continuities and changes of the postcolonial era, even when we are looking at contemporary phenomena. The notion of development is one important lens to engage in such a longue durée perspective.c) As researchers of factories and workplaces we should be aware of employees’ horizons of expectations and their affective experiences at the workplace. In the case of CERAT the experience at the factory aligns the desires of employees with the desire of the firm to generate profit. Finally, the chapter advocates for the continuing necessity to talk about “development.”
