Theoretical Framework: Revising Concepts of Migration Studies

The topic of my research is embedded in various existing theory and research frames. The field of migration research, to begin with, contains several migration paradigms (e.g. transnationalism, multiculturalism, assimilationism) and is related to a range of issue-specific concepts such as nation state, citizenship, integration, identity, or diaspora. One cannot study the underlying topic without taking recourse to some of these ideas or taking a stand on others.
