Film and Philosophy

Film as a medium of seduction also plays a role in earlier engagements with film and philosophy, but the phenomenon is rarely explicitly named. The following chapter will show some ‘film philosophers’ where there are theoretical approaches to seduction that need to be further developed. For this purpose, it is advisable to strive for a common denominator, as the American genre film of the classic era between 1930 and 1960 is often conspicuously used as an example.
