Introduction Special Issue

Strategic planning has evolved over the past 50 years into a vital tool for organizations of all sizes. Numerous economic, technological, and social changes have had a substantial impact on its evolution. The following introduction to the special issue of the Schmalenbach Working Group “Integrated Corporate Planning” celebrates the 50th anniversary of the working group and provides a short history of strategic planning as well as a deep dive into some contemporary trends that have a major impact on strategic planning.
