Cyclic Processes

The tasks in section 7 refer comprehensively to thermodynamic cycles (right-hand and left-hand cycles; ideal and real cycles; applications in power machines, power plant processes, refrigeration machines and heat pumps). As ideal right-hand processes with ideal gases, the Carnot process, the Seiliger process with its forms as Otto process and Diesel process, the Joule process, the Ericsson process, the Stirling process, the single-polytropic Carnot process and the gas expansion process are calculated in tasks; the Clausius-Rankine process is also calculated as an ideal process with a real fluid. Corresponding state diagrams are used. In addition, the comparative evaluation of right-hand cyclic processes is dealt with. Finally, ideal left-hand processes (with ideal gases: Carnot process, Joule process; with a real fluid: cold vapor compression process) are treated in tasks.
