Good Life and Precarization

The power to survive and win in the short run by destroying the conditions for the good life, in the long run, is the power to self-precarize and lead to self-destruction. We have created societies that produce massive destruction of life, including human life and living conditions. Our short-term endeavors to make a good life produce long-term deteriorating living-conditions. In our development of society, we have destroyed whatever life we believed in our way. Thereby we caused worsening living conditions. It appears that we are about to precarize our situation. Humans have the power to self-destroy. Presumably, we do not want to do that. But do we have the power that is needed to avoid doing it?
