Völkische Rassenforschung – Dismissible or Undeniable: (People and/or Race)

The scientific level of völkisch research in all the scientific disciplines still to be considered here was to be determined by whether it succeeded in, if not excluding, the consequences of equating the concept of Volk and race, at least in declaring race to be a peripheral factor. Only if this succeeded could völkisch researchers escape the melting of their research into the maelstrom of rampant racial doctrine. In the sources, we observe efforts of differentiation, homogenization, and generalization as well as approving accommodation; völkisch researchers did not solve this problem.
