“German Folk and Cultural Soil” – Cultural Area Research
摘要
Among all the spiritual consequences of Germany’s defeat in the war, it was the least expected that flowed from the pen of a prominent scientist when he wrote: “…One gratifying effect of the war is to be seen in the fact that today more and more a unified national feeling is forming, which now embraces not only the members of the German people grouped together in the German Reich, but extends to the Germans living outside the Reich-German borders”. The person who formulates this is the Leipzig geographer and student of the famous Adolf Penck, Emil Meynen. Meynen passes on – in a pointedly political way – the geopolitical knowledge of his teacher, an internationally renowned ice age researcher.
