What Is Actually Going on Here? Interpretative Reflections on the Theresienstadt Film
摘要
This paper attempts to present the results of a film analysis of the second Theresienstadt film with the help of video hermeneutics in the sociology of knowledge. The Theresienstadtfilm – incomplete and as part of the Nazi propaganda – is particularly suitable for the analysis, since it partly uses professional film-technical standards and on the other hand remains commonplace in the image motif that one could forget where the film was shot. A sociological approach to knowledge is therefore interesting, as it allows different constitutions of meaning to be represented.
