On the Educational Ideal of the Economic Citizen: A Competence Model for Economic Education and a Domain Analysis of the Societal Life Sphere
摘要
Several competence-oriented models have been proposed for economic education in recent years, but none has to date been evaluated empirically. This paper presents a new competence model for economic education that combines existing subject-didactic and pedagogical-psychological approaches. It substantiates the economic-civic educational ideal and characterises economic demand situations structurally by life spheres and processually by thinking and problem-solving processes. Socio-economic problems pertaining to the societal life sphere are identified by an empirical domain analysis. The competence model and the domain analysis open up further education research perspectives, for example for competence diagnostics and curriculum development. However, a domain analysis of the other life spheres remains a lacuna.
